Who We Are

It’s true that when you have a personal reason for launching a brand, the journey becomes even more meaningful. For me, it all started when my wife began experiencing unexplained health issues. We couldn’t figure out what was going on, and after countless consultations and rounds of testing, she was eventually diagnosed with hormone imbalances.

That moment was a turning point—not just for her health, but for me personally and professionally. We became far more aware of our lifestyle choices: what we were eating, how we were sleeping, managing stress, and most importantly, what we were putting on our skin and using around the home.

As I began researching, I was shocked to discover just how many everyday household products contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals—ingredients that either mimic hormones or interfere with how the body’s hormonal system functions. BPA, for example, mimics estrogen and can cause major imbalances. Parabens and triclosan are also common offenders, often found in products like dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent.

When I struggled to find a range of cleaning products that were safe for my wife and our home—but also looked good and aligned with our values—I realised I’d have to create them myself. I wanted products that were SLS-free, SLES-free, and paraben-free. Products that didn’t just clean well, but were gentle on the skin, kind to the planet, and naturally beautiful to have in our home. Most importantly, I wanted to be able to read the label and feel confident that nothing inside could cause harm.

And so, Read the Label London was born.

But my passion for natural products didn’t begin with my wife’s diagnosis. I was raised in a household where plant-based remedies were the norm. My mum was always making her own solutions from herbs and essential oils—lavender oil for cuts and bruises, tea tree for breakouts, eucalyptus steam when we had colds. Turning to nature was second nature to her, and it quickly became second nature to me.

Today, I’m more committed than ever to living a chemical-free lifestyle. My wife manages her hormone health through a combination of clean living, an organic diet, and consistent use of our products. My hope is that Read the Label can help others in the same way—especially those struggling silently with similar issues.

By taking a moment to read the labels on the products we use every day, we can all make better, more informed choices—and feel good about what we’re bringing into our homes and around our loved ones x
